Success of our development
The hands-free glass door system SCHOTT Termofrost Smart Access driven by UNITES Systems’ electronics has won the 2018 German Design Award, an international competition run by the German Design Council, and received the Gold prize for its excellent product design in the “Retail” category.
SCHOTT Termofrost Smart Access doors for cooling cabinets in supermarkets open hands-free using integrated motion detection sensors. The door system closes multideck cabinets for saving energy and keeping temperatures at the required level. Moreover, made entirely of glass with no frame, this virtually invisible door system provides shoppers a panoramic view of and easy access to products.
Although this system for which we have developed the electronic part looks as it should particularly serve to increase user comfort its main impact is on energy savings which is sector we like to pursue.
